Flooring Expectations
Before shopping for flooring, it is important to ask yourself a few simple questions. What will the daily traffic flow be in that area? What is the room used for? Are there children or pets to consider? Do I have a specific pattern or color scheme in mind? What is my flooring budget?
In addition to these questions, you should probably also consider the amount of direct sunlight the room gets and how changing one room might enhance or impact another nearby. After you've answered these questions, you'll be better able to narrow your flooring search to a few selections that meet your lifestyle and overall flooring expectations.
Flooring Choices
Ultimately, you'll be more pleased with your final flooring selection when your choice blends and compliments your individual needs and desires. For example, if you enjoy a more elegant look, consider hardwood, teak, laminate, or stone floors.
If you have children or pets, you may want to look into carpet, vinyl, or nontraditional flooring choices and materials. If you want to pamper your feet, try cork or rubber kitchen tiles. You feet will thank you. Just remember that what works for one family or home is not always the right flooring choice for another. Be selective, be creative, and enjoy your flooring choices for years to come.
