Sure, taking a trip, hiking, or just catching up with all your favorite shows are great ways to spend a weekend. But if you really want bliss, how about redecorating your bathroom?
This week I had a conversation with my friend that surprised me. She explained that she relaxed over the weekend by redecorating her bathroom. Some bright new towels, a new under-sink organizer, a new shower curtain, and she was loving life.

Bathrooms can be sanctuaries. Those who live in smaller spaces with higher population densities—harried moms, or students with yappy roommates—have discovered that the bathroom is often the only place they can get a second of peace and quiet. But bathrooms can be restful spaces in every type of home. Spending some time with yours may be the perfect stress-buster. Here are a couple of tips to make sure your bathroom decorating is a pick-up.
Tip #1 – In the Bathroom, White is the Safest Bet Around
If you want your bathroom to seem clean and bright, white is one of the surest ways to get there. If you’re up for bathroom decorating more intensive than a rug change, sticking to white in any sink or toilet changes will keep you from shaking your head next year and regretting your blue toilet.
Tip #2 – Clutter is Decorating’s Enemy
One of the best ways to make your bathroom into a peaceful retreat is to get rid of stuff. From knickknacks to hair gel, the less in sight, the cleaner and more serene your space will feel. If you can only make one bathroom decorating change, some bathroom organizing supplies are a great choice.
Whether you make big changes or small ones, a little bathroom makeover will take you a long way.
