If you would like to increase the curb appeal of your home, you should consider replacing an existing window in your home with a bay or bow window. This decision can have several long-term advantages associated with it.

Advantages

Not only will replacing an existing window with a bay or bow window add a beautiful touch to your home, but it will also add extra space. A bay or bow window helps you bring light into a room and expand a view.

You can replace a window in any room of your home with a bay or bow window. Installing energy-efficient glass in your bay or bow window could save you money on your heating and cooling costs. Adding a bay or bow window to your home may also increase the value of your home. This will be a great advantage for when you want to sell it.

Options Available

If you decide that you want a bay or bow window, you can choose from many different sizes, colors, options, and accessories. You can also choose from different types of glass to create the look and feel that you are searching for.

In addition to these options, most types of bay and bow windows come with interiors that allow you to paint or stain any color so that you are able to match your new window with your indoor décor. Both bay and bow windows are also available with casement or double-hung windows.

Choosing Between a Bay and Bow Window

A bay window usually consists of three glass sections that project from the exterior wall of a house. The two side sections are typically angled at 30, 45, or 90 degrees. A bow window consists of four or more glass sections to simulate an arc-shaped appearance that projects from the exterior wall. Knowing what you want your finished project to look like will help you decide if you would rather replace your existing window with a bay or bow window.
