The Beauty of a French Door

A French door has the definition of being a light door with transparent panels extending the whole length of the door. They are extremely beautiful doors that can be used on the interior of the house or to the outside. The doors are generally made of wood and have either clear glass panels or obscured glass. The doors can be put in alone or in a pair. French doors can be made in a variety of heights and widths.

The windows that are put into French doors are termed "lites". Therefore, a 12 lite French door has 12 panels with glass in them, there are also 10 lite, 15 lite, and 1 lite French doors. The glass panels may be larger in a 10 lite then in a 12 lite in the same sized door. It can vary depending on the exact look you are going for.

French doors are a great divider between rooms; closed off for privacy or open when you have everyone over for the holidays. A French door also looks beautiful opening on to a patio or deck. Check out NEWPRO the Replacement Window People for more information or to obtain your free estimate today.
